Tapoca is an organic display typeface shaped by the idea of matter transformed into form.

Its name draws from the universe of cassava and tapioca — ancestral knowledge of the Indigenous peoples of Brazil — as a metaphor for surface: a mass that spreads, settles, and gains body. This logic guides the design of the glyphs, marked by full volumes, continuous curves, and a construction distant from rigid industrial patterns.

Tapoca emerges from the intersection of Indigenous graphic traditions, Afro-diasporic visual heritage, and a typographic process attentive to gesture, rhythm, and presence. The letters are dense and expressive, designed to occupy space with personality in headlines, visual identities, and strong typographic hierarchies.

Within the display field, Tapoca is broad and versatile. It works equally well in bold headlines and visual identity systems, adapting to different contexts without losing its character. Its strength lies precisely in this expressive flexibility: a typeface that adapts to the project without becoming generic.

Tapoca is a display typeface designed to occupy space with confidence. While it excels in headlines, its structure also supports short blocks of text, maintaining rhythm, density, and presence without sacrificing clarity.

Beyond its formal qualities, Tapoca was developed with special attention to linguistic diversity. Its character set is extensive and prepared for the transcription of Indigenous languages of Brazil, reaffirming typography as a cultural tool rather than merely a technical one.
